Our platelet-rich plasma therapy (PRP) uses a portion of your own blood to rejuvenate your own facial skin. FAQs

What are the precautions to take before treatment?

No vitamins, alcohol or anti-inflammatories 5-7 days before treatment to help prevent downtime e.g.. bruising

If you suffer from cold sores it is advisable to take lysine or an oral prescription x 1 week prior to treatment to help prevent cold sore virus reactivating

Day of treatment I recommend an antihistamine prior to treatment to help prevent swelling

Not suitable for anyone pregnant or breastfeeding
What is the after care?

Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours after treatment – there will be redness and swelling

Avoid anti-inflammatories, vitamins & alcohol for 2 days after treatment

Do not apply make up for 48 hours

Do not have any other cosmetic treatment for 4 weeks after profhilo treatment
Is the treatment safe?

Yes the treatment is very safe.

The plasma is taken from the patient’s own blood so no danger of any allergic reactions.
